by Maggie Davis
The American Diabetes Association is offering a new simple but sophisticated tool that you can use in your own home to assess your risk of Diabetes and its complications. It also allows you interactively to explore on the Web the effects of various therapeutic lifestyle changes and medical interventions on your health risk status.
Health parameters that can be entered and evaluated by the simulation program are age, sex, height, weight, gender, personal health history, family history, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, fasting glucose levels and current medications.
Whether you have pre-diabetes, diabetes or another cardiovascular condition (or are at risk for these conditions because of family history or obesity) I hope that you will try this powerful simulation program. See for yourself how making changes in your health management strategies can decrease your risk of complications.
