May is Older Americans Month
by Maggie Davis

We salute those older individuals we treat who are striving to maintain or improve their health through good nutrition and physical activity! You're never too old to make a change or make a difference... in what you eat, how much you eat and how active you are. "Live long, Live well, Live nutrition!" - Maggie Davis

A 2005 Proclamation by the President of the United States of America
"Older Americans teach us the timeless lessons of courage, sacrifice, and love. By sharing their wisdom and experience, they serve as role models for future generations. During Older Americans Month, we pay tribute to our senior citizens and their contributions to our Nation."

A Message from the Assistant Secretary, Dept. of Health & Human Services:
Today there are 80 million Americans over the age of 50. Many individuals are aging well and living longer than any time in history, but still far too many people are inactive and sedentary. We can do more, and our best weapons are literally in our own hands: the food we choose to eat, and the activities that get us moving. Older adults tend to be healthier, feel better, and maintain their mobility and independence longer when they take these simple steps.
